Easter means something different to everyone. For some, it’s a deep spiritual experience; for others, it’s about the joy of the changing seasons or the simple happiness of spending time with loved ones. For us—David, Bri, and Prescious—it’s all of that and more. Here’s what Easter means to each of us in our own words.
David:
My favorite thing about Easter is, honestly, just the time of year it happens. I know some people get annoyed by the wild weather, but I love how unpredictable it is. One day it’s sunny and warm, the next it’s raining—or if you live in Alamosa, it’s windy and snowing sideways. I think that kind of variety keeps things interesting.
Spring feels like a fresh start. Easter fits right in with that. It always reminds me of being a kid, hunting for my mom’s painted Easter eggs while flowers started popping up and the trees were blooming. Everything just feels new again, and that’s what I like most about Easter. There’s something magical about it, like nature hitting the reset button and inviting us to do the same.
Bri:
For me, Easter is a time to reconnect with my faith and really embrace the deeper meaning behind it. I love everything about the holiday, but what makes it most special is how it centers me and brings me closer to my beliefs. Easter helps me reflect on everything I’m grateful for—especially the sacrifice, love, and hope that this time of year represents.
Whether I’m in church, praying, or just spending time thinking quietly, I use Easter as a spiritual reset. It reminds me of who I am, what I believe in, and what truly matters. I think we all need moments like that—where we can pause, reflect, and feel renewed in our purpose.
Precious:
What I love most about Easter is getting to spend time with my friends. It’s not always about big traditions or being with family for me—sometimes the best memories come from just hanging out with the people who make me smile and laugh.
There’s something special about sharing a holiday with your friends. Whether we’re cooking together or just enjoying a chill day, it means a lot to have that time with them.
Whether it’s the unpredictable beauty of spring, the grounding presence of faith, or the joy of friendship, Easter speaks to each of us in different ways. It’s more than just a holiday—it’s a reminder that renewal, hope, and love can show up in all kinds of forms. However we choose to celebrate, what matters most is that it brings us closer to the things—and the people—that matter.
