A great gift it is, divine locomotion

Carrying us to heaven's embrace,

Men pursue joy, so sweet an emotion,

Few discern it is found in the chase

Angelic paradise exists on earth:

Brief moments that by time are sundered.

Bits and pieces of boundless worth

All belong to the long distance runner!
